Category:
The Vault Rustic Furniture — Corsicana, Texas The Timberline Lodge Cedar Bunk Bed is built from hand-peeled natural cedar logs ranging 6 to 8 inches in diameter, with bark removed by drawknife to expose raw wood beneath. Live knots, honey-amber grain, and the irregular surface curves that occur naturally in aged cedar are preserved through the peeling and sanding process. These characteristics vary from log to log and are a function of the material, not inconsistencies in build quality. The frame is joined throughout by mortise-and-tenon connections, with vertical spindle rails mortised directly into hand-rounded corner posts on both the upper and lower bunks. No visible bolts or brackets are used at any structural junction. The integrated side ladder is built from solid cedar stringers with hand-cut rungs mortised in place and angled for climbing access. Both bunks carry solid cedar slatted platforms that support a mattress without a box spring or center beam. The Queen lower bunk accepts a standard Queen mattress. The Twin XL upper bunk accepts a Twin XL or Twin mattress and includes full-perimeter safety rails. A protective finish is applied to all surfaces to seal the wood against moisture and seasonal movement. All mattress support edges are sanded smooth with rounded corners. Material Hand-peeled natural cedar logs, 6–8 inches in diameter, with live knots and honey-amber grain intact. Finish Protective clear finish applied to all surfaces to seal cedar against moisture and seasonal movement while retaining natural wood color.
