The pull-up finish absorbs natural oils from handling over time, producing a darker patina that is a result of use rather than a manufacturing defect. The back panel is covered in brindle hair-on cowhide, with natural color variation across amber, coffee, and black tones. Because each hide differs, no two back panels are identical. The seat foundation uses eight-way hand-tied springs secured to the hardwood base, topped with a high-density foam core wrapped in cotton batting. Welt cord edging is sewn along all seams with heavy-gauge thread. Double rows of antique pewter nailhead trim are hand-set at quarter-inch intervals along both arms. A steel track base with a 360-degree ball-bearing swivel mechanism and a manual recline function allow the chair to extend to a full lay-flat position.
