The Vault Rustic Furniture — Corsicana, Texas The Mesa Vaquero Saddle Barstool is built from a kiln-dried solid hardwood seat hand-carved into the profile of a working saddle, with a raised pommel, cantle, and contoured seat surfaces, then wrapped in full-grain leather upholstered with hand-tooled serape patterns in rust, tan, and cream. Turquoise contrast stitching follows the contours of the seat profile, and variation in leather grain and tooling depth across individual units is a result of hand application, not a defect. The carved seat connects to a hand-forged iron pedestal base via mortise-and-tenon joinery throughout the frame. The pedestal consists of four curved legs extending from a central column, each finished with a blacksmith-applied patina. The leather wraps continuously around the pommel and cantle with hand-stitched seams at all stress points, and the underside of the seat is reinforced with a canvas backing attached via copper-wire stitching. Rubber pads are fitted to all four feet. No exposed mechanical fasteners are used on the seat surface.
